Sometime earlier this week, I dreamt of people being run over by MRT trains.
There’s an article in ST Insight today about complacency. Dissection later, but it’s not particularly perceptive.
And now, off to attempt a lousy pittance of an essay. If only literature could be compared in a nice matrix like products, soft and hard..

Complacency is one of those buzzwords and bogeyconcepts that get bandied about a lot. Largely, the argument goes, because we are a small island with no natural resources, if we are complacent, then we will (insert dire consequence here).

I’d like to do a nice graph of occurrences of ‘complacency’ in ST over time, then add in news flags à la Google Finance charts.
Wondering whether I shouldn’t publish it when it’s done.

A good try would be monitor the “Insight” or “Editorial” pages for about six months?

Ideally, I’d backtrack a bit and (attempt to) pinpoint the rise, but a large stack of newsprint just went out the door not too long ago..
Hmm.
