The Society for HandHeld Hushing (by Coudal Partners) is a really good idea. For the lazy, here it is (pdf).

I was thinking and thinking, and suddenly the expansion of SARS reminded me strongly of the term ice cream headache.
I’ve just read in succession R K Narayan’s Malgudi Days, Mr Sampath – the printer of Malgudi, as well as Waiting for the Mahatma. Now, I’m going to take my time to digest those, re-read them, then attack a commentary and a biography. This time, I can tell that I’m missing a lot in my first read.
I’m still looking for a niche area within my class to fill. It’s full of very talented and very different people, so it’s been a difficult search. Ow.
I’m struggling with math now – be it set theory or surds and indices, all of it. Time for more intensive reading.

I’m still down and not so out after a bout of a sore throat, weak fever, and very runny nose; it’s either from stressing myself out over imaginary stuff or from that contaminated water cooler.
http://s.cflee.net for all concerned.
We said farewell to the grand prince of camazotz yesterday, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
Circles within circles within circles.. I’m so tired. Tired.

This is a long, rambling and unsticky post. Please treat each paragraph as separate posts
There was a movie and food outing today, but due to some prior arrangements (or the lack of) I had to leave after the movie. It’s especially annoying when it’s the (second-)last time I’ll be meeting some people, and also for the usual reason that I won’t get to chat with friends.
Work’s been piling up, right now it’s at an absolutely shocking amount which I haven’t seen since P4/P5. I can hardly remember those days already, which should be a good thing.
All ACS (Indep) CCA sites will have to be refreshed into a standard template. All customizations, personalization and so on will be dealt with in Phase III, whereas Phase II is for chasing the stuff that didn’t get submitted in Phase I.
Fellow comrades, if you haven’t had this whole episode explained to you yet, please get my write-up (it’s on foolscap) from me for your reading pleasure. It’s not complete yet, as I got interrupted just before my free period ended by my ISO mentor.
I bought a TransitLink Guide today when I was passing through a MRT station, first impressions are that it covers enough to make it useful. It’s staying in my bag from now on.
Phew, I checked my POSB savings account after 2 years of ignorance, and pleasantly discovered that the interest rate appears to have doubled between 2005 and 2006. The only deposit in 2006 was the interest for 2005.
I’ve been dreaming a lot recently, and it seems that the ‘epic’-style dreams tend to cluster together when I’m under stress.. I’ve got about three or four new worlds – or at least, towns – constructed within the past week. One had a fish market, selling everything from raw to grilled to poached fish, all very fresh – and it was within 10 minutes from mirror-Novena. Fishy.
There was another one involving nylon rope, a swiss army knife and knotwork (Knots I), but I can’t really remember what it was about.
I’ve still got a year to go before pants. And three more to go after that, if all goes well.

Hello Singapore!
Just teasers from my trip now, I need rest and milo.
They’re all separate incidents.
100+ students, six hours, unheated coach in winter. Not moving.
2 students, 1 freaked out and endangered teacher. On ice.
34 students. 1 missing road.

(The other) TCS should do recordings of the AC Cheers & Songs.
Off to Chengdu not too long later, on Air China – I remember fuming silently when The Lesser Lesser Great One quoted it as “China Airlines”. There’s a lot of difference.
School and routine is boring. I don’t have the energy left to work in Flash or my favourite text editor afterwards, only enough to bum around and do clever tricks to minimise effort required to perform grading tasks.
Shockingly (but not entirely surprisingly), if I were to use a Matrox DualHead2Go with my Macbook, I’d only be able to drive 2×1024x768 displays. I’m going to get just at least a 17″ monitor. No point having 2x 15″.
My next purchase: either a 3.5mm jack to two RCA jack cable, or active speakers. I suspect I’ll just go for an Aego M instead of getting my previously-flooded-in-water speakers to perform optimally.
I want to play floating bridge with some not so noisy guys for a change.

Poll: Do you think that the shade of blue used on the ACS (Independent) Website is ‘dull’, ‘dirty’ &/or ‘pale’?
The Student Handbook has errors too, no prizes for spotting them. The cheers booklet front cover nearly passes, but the “&” symbol is cut off by the line. That’s a borderline fail.
It’s not Myriad Pro, I think.
Electron configuration of atoms is a very fun topic, when you have a decent teacher teaching it. Especially when you’re only supposed to be ‘introduced’ to it so you won’t have to go into all the gory details, just those that you find fun.
I’m very much behind in my reading, having been interested in other areas, like digging up this probably 20-year-old Audiolab 8000A, Bose AcoustiMass AM-5, and accompanying unmentionable cables. After a evening and night of wire stripping, soldering, testing, and resoldering, I’ve finally got a lousy minijack (3.5mm) to RCA cable working, having sacrificed one audio cable and a set of earphones.
The effort and time’s so worth it, especially since it’s sitting next to my old Altec Lansing ACS90 desktop speakers. There was some trouble about ground loop-caused hum but somehow it got fixed, accidentally or with divine intervention.
Happy me. Yes, maybe Bose speakers mightn’t be the best in your opinion, but they’re good enough for me right now. Aegos can come when they do.
Recently, I learnt what an annoyance (and what thoughts can be invoked) when someone approaches you to bounce off an idea, perhaps seek assistance, then go off, then snub you when you try to figure out whether you’re actually needed or wanted around. That’s definitely a learning point. I’ll try and avoid that, if I can.
Great 周记 fodder.
After meeting some long-lost friends, I had a bout of dreams and nightmares, all seemingly unrelated to them. Since then, I haven’t had enough quality sleep to even remember sleeping.
COMPSERV | CST’s Recruitment 2007 is on tomorrow (or today in few minutes), and this time, it’s very much structured. We hope for the best.

The “White Space” component is fascinating. Also of note in the as yet not completely circulated Principal’s Circular, UYOs are to be rescheduled to 2.30pm to 6.30pm.
Thank God, the past week’s been moderately productive and somewhat stressful; the school in general seems to be happier and more jovial this year, with some wearing cryptic grins.
Five: crane-folding.
